The Speed of the City
A commuter train leaving downtown Chicago on a summer evening.
The Center Of It All
The galactic core setting over remote eastern Utah. This is literally the center of everything that we know of. I took advantage of there being a very dark sky area close to where I was staying and spent some time in the early morning hours shooting. I'm lucky that the advancing cloud cover didn't obscure more of the Milky Way. This area is interesting in that there isn't even a small town for 70 miles in the direction this shot was taken and if you kept going, there aren't any large cities on this trajectory in the whole of North America.
Why Hello, Charlotte!
The skyscrapers of downtown Charlotte, North Carolina glow brightly in the evening light. After my meetings were done, I drove downtown and practiced both my light trails and cityscape photography. I hope you like it. :)
Passing in the Night
Light trails in some of the densest fog I've seen. Taken when I should have been sleeping, as the fog crystallized on my camera. :)
Headed Downtown

The Open Road
I love the open road. This was taken while driving through Nebraska with my family back in 2015. That was a wonderful road trip!
Intersection on a Winter Night
Top-down photo of an intersection on a winter night (last month). I love the perspective that aerial photography gives me!
Hayride
An autumn hayride through a pumpkin patch, from the air.
Drive up this Mountain
Winding mountain road - the Beartooth Highway in southern Montana, United States. This was a beautiful drive, highly recommended.
Red, White, and Blue
Flat and Forever
I absolutely loved driving the roads in Nebraska. The storm on the horizon made it even better!
Plenty of Room Here
Looking out at the very empty land from the top of an ancient volcanic rim (Doherty Slide) in southern Oregon. I loved driving through this isolated part of the western United States. If you went directly toward the horizon of this scene, you wouldn't intersect a town for over 200 miles - and then you'd be at the Pacific coast.
Beartooth Highway
A beautiful scenic drive. The Beartooth Highway in northwestern Wyoming, USA.
Deep Snow Road
Deep snow marked the edge of the road to Crater Lake, Oregon. This was May 30th. I wonder how much snow there is in the winter!
Into the City
Traffic entering San Francisco via the Bay Bridge on a sunny day.
Autumn Drive
A recent autumn drive in the mountains near my home.
