An early autumn sky, alight with the setting sun. This image feels a bit melancholy to me, like the passing of time and the realization that life is short. I noticed the sky as I was watching my son's soccer game, and as is usual, the light and color lasted but a moment, but I caught it!
There were other clouds in the sky, but this one completely monopolized my attention.
Mount Rushmore - what a place! I captured a panorama of these gigantic sculptures last summer. Carved from the solid granite of the Black Hills of South Dakota, it's stunning to see in person. Unfortunately, the sky was pretty flat, so I replaced it with a sunset I shot in Utah. Much better. :)
