A view of the summit of Mt. Timpanogos in early summer. This photo is somehow moving to me...maybe it's the old, sepia look, I don't know. It feels somehow nostalgic. I love the feeling of climbing mountains, of scaling the peak. The ascent of mountains really can be an extraordinary experience.
I know that tomorrow is August...still summertime. But October is only two months away. Early autumn and autumn in general is my favorite time of year. I love the warm days and cool nights, the nip in the air, the first snow on the mountains, the colors of the leaves. Only two months away!
From my vantage point, this looked like a really big dirt pile to me. I've always liked dirt piles. :) Mountains can be fun, but they can also get in one's way...they can be symbolic of challenges. I am grateful for the pioneers who have blazed the trail, over mountains, both physical, emotional, and spiritual, not to mention big dirt piles like this one. Because of those that have gone before, I enjoy great privileges. Thank you, and happy Pioneer Day (Utah holiday). :)
