Burst
There is a universe of beautiful details when you get close enough.
Splash
Light, sand, water - and a seashell.

Every time I photograph flowers close up, I'm stunned at the intricate design and symmetry, the perfect function, and the over-the-top beauty of nature. The Creator certainly is creative!
He Gave Me Flowers in A Dream
Close-up of a tiny white daisy. The shallow depth of field gave this a soft dreamy feel to me.
Even If You're Small
These tiny flowers (about 1 cm wide each) were blooming at 200 ft below sea level in Death Valley National Park in California. Tiny flowers at the lowest place in the United States - far from a lofty platform, but they made me smile anyway.
A Better View
The world looks different when you're a bug.
(Birthday) Candle in the Wind
The warm breeze blew over the iced landscape...and then the light went out.
Serenity
Sunflower
I look this photo in my garden yesterday against an overcast sky. There was a light breeze so the flower was swaying and the bee was moving around pretty quickly, so I was lucky to get this composition and to get it in focus. :)
Green Dragon
My kids and I found this large green dragonfly sitting on our driveway a few days ago. We admired it for a few minutes before it flew away. If you zoom in, you can see tiny black hairs on it's face and even the individual parts of its compound eye.
Pollen Eater
Kiwi Explosion
Fleeting Blossom
Back in March, I'd had my eye on a bunch of blossoming cherry trees near my home. I finally found some time to go photograph them - and it was just in time, because the next time I passed, the flowers were gone.
It's Just Me
A Little Crabby
This little guy was a bit annoyed about having a long lens pointed right in his face...and just after this, he scurried away.
Incoming
She's just here for the flowers...
Bars
Metal bars making up the seat of a park bench.
Citrus
Is there anything about an orange that's less than awesome? I think not. :)
New Bloom
I found this small flower opening on a weed in my front yard. It was no bigger than the tip of a ballpoint pen. I used extension tubes to get in close.

The Moment
A very small moment with a small shell on a large beach on a very large ocean. 1/4000th of a second, to be precise.
Light My Fire
Plant's Purpose
All of the energy that a plant takes in from the sun, water and soil, its growth and the show of its flowers, is dedicated to one single purpose: reproduction.
