After 40 years of faith-filled labor, the Saints of 1893 dedicated this majestic edifice to the Lord Jesus Christ. I've visited the Salt Lake Temple many times, but during this last visit, I was impressed by how truly monumental this temple is! It has been made sacred by the faith and sacrifice of the builders and by the significant work done within.
New York City has a personality of its own. I love its juxtaposition of the historic and the modern, of 100-year-old bridges and new skyscrapers, of the old and of the new.
"May the light of the gospel that emanates from this holy temple be felt throughout the community... May the sanctifying influence of the temple be extended into the families, the neighborhoods, and the communities of those who will come to worship here." —President Henry B. Eyring, dedicatory prayer for the Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple, September 18, 2016
