Monument to Eternal Love
The purpose of the temple is to extend the eternal love of God to all of his children, living and dead, through covenants and ordinances. The San Diego, California temple at twilight.
Salty Water at 1/1600th of a Second
I love shooting waves. The shape and the movement of the water intrigues me.
Portrait of a Pelican
Winter in Newport Beach
Not everyone wishes for a white Christmas. :)

Water below and water above. The Pacific Ocean from Southern California.
Earth's oceans - a remarkable and important part of our planet. Happy World Oceans Day.
Light, sand, water - and a seashell.
The tide went out and the ocean began exposing its secrets...
Wide Warm Beaches
It was a beautiful beach day in Southern California. Looking at this image, I can feel the warm sand on my bare feet, the cooler ocean breeze, the sound of the surf and the seagulls. I love the beach. :) These little sand mountains came from a heavy rainstorm the day before. I have happy memories of time spent on these beaches when I was a child.
Even If You're Small
These tiny flowers (about 1 cm wide each) were blooming at 200 ft below sea level in Death Valley National Park in California. Tiny flowers at the lowest place in the United States - far from a lofty platform, but they made me smile anyway.
"Everything that occurs in the temple is uplifting and ennobling. It speaks of life here and life beyond the grave. It speaks of the importance of the individual as a child of God. It speaks of the importance of the family and the eternity of the marriage relationship."

The Years Are Short
The days can be long, but the years are short. I couldn't resist capturing this moment as a father and his daughter gleefully played in the sunset.
Lost At Sea
Can you imagine losing your love to the vast, impenetrable ocean? I tried to make this fit the mood of the title and hark back to a time when the ocean was even more of a mystery than it is today.
The Emptiness of the Sea
The sea is full - of water, of life - but at the same time, it's incredibly empty.
Sun on Saltwater
Light from the setting sun reflects on a swell in the Pacific.
A Little Crabby
This little guy was a bit annoyed about having a long lens pointed right in his face...and just after this, he scurried away.
The Golden City
One of the lesser-used (old?) nicknames for San Francisco - the City by the Bay in the Golden State.
Sun Setting Softly
This was an unintentionally out-of-focus shot that I ended up liking more than the silhouettes I was attempting. :) The sun was setting over the Pacific Ocean.
