Day's Decline
I recently drove the Squaw Peak road with my family. It starts in a canyon near my home and winds for 20 miles between mountain peaks to end up in another canyon farther away. It was a gorgeous drive, and we caught the sunset from high in the mountains.

Valley View
Not the usual vantage point. It doesn't take long for one to feel detached from all the busyness of the world below when you're up in the mountains.

Wet Window
I don't get enough rain where I live...so when it rains hard and lasts for awhile, it's kind of exciting. I like the way the light plays on the water droplets.

Garden Stroll
Isaac loves the garden...probably because his parents spend time in and around it. He likes to walk around and pick (usually) unripe veggies. Yesterday, he took a bucket out to the garden, started picking cherry tomatoes and putting them in the bucket. :)

Night Lighted
On a recent rainy night, I captured these light trails from a passing car. The night was bright from the cars, the streetlights...even the ground and the clouds were reflecting light.

Mountain Framed
Framing a photo with foreground objects is a technique I don't often use. Do you think it's effective here? This was taken from the parking lot where I work.

Painting the Clouds
The best type of art...the natural type. The moving, changing, dynamic natural art that is all around us. This early morning art show only lasted a few minutes, but it was a good one.

This poor baby bird was stranded in a tree...it couldn't yet fly, and was perched on a small branch just a few feet above my head.

Showers at Sunset
Not long before dark, I looked and saw this. The interplay of light and rain and clouds can make for a truly beautiful combination.

Mowed
Lawn: It's an interesting idea...plant a ground cover, then mow it and water it, over and over. Then walk and play on it. It does look good and is far nicer than dirt, rocks and weeds.

Sunset over the Rockies
Looking west outside of Denver, Colorado. Denver is quite an interesting place. You look one direction and the horizon is flat. You look the other, and you see the jagged peaks of the Rockies. It's part prairie and part mountain.

Baby Face
They're only little once...and there will come a time when I miss these children of mine. It's said that families that play together stay together. How valuable to a child is an hour playing with daddy, or doing something together as a family. I believe that this is a key to a happy and lasting family, and I feel a renewed resolve to make memories with my children while I can...not only will it enrich me, but it will greatly benefit them.

Sunburst
A couple days ago I looked out my window in the morning and saw this beautiful sunrise. If you look closely, you can see sun rays coming out from behind the clouds in every direction.

Burning Sun
Smoke from fires in Southern Utah created this scene today. The smoky air isn't good to breathe, but it does make for striking skies.

Seeing Through Windows
We all see life through unique windows, or paradigms...and so much of our trouble comes from thinking that our windows are the same as someone else's. We often associate with those whose windows are similar, but even then, they're all unique, framed by our family and upbringing, our life's experiences, our personality, and so much more. Instead of projecting our windows on others and assuming they see things in the same way as us, why not listen and try to see through their windows? It's amazing how much this can help in all of our relationships with others...each of whom sees from behind a unique set of windows.

You Deserve It
I love hot, juicy burgers...and since I deserve one...
Actually, this is more than just a crazy sign. Over a year ago my Dad was in the hospital with an unknown medical problem at the time. I was on the way back from visiting him at the hospital where he was recovering and eating hospital food and saw this sign and thought of him. He loves burgers as I do, and he really did deserve one right then. :) I'm grateful that all is well with him now! From All Photos
