This might be my favorite of nature's color schemes.
Water and Air
There is a whole lot of each on this planet...and both are vital to our being alive! There are people moving through both the water and the air in this photo (an airplane and a boat). Can you find them?
This water and air are just outside Chicago, Illinois.
The Moody Earth
This hillside next to the beach in San Francisco seemed to showcase some of the moods of the earth - the vibrant foliage contrasted with the muted colors in the fog. I love nature!
Walls of Rock
Walls of colored rock - just one of the many natural wonders in Yellowstone National Park. Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
Salty Water at 1/1600th of a Second
I love shooting waves. The shape and the movement of the water intrigues me.
Great Blue Heron
What a magnificent animal. I accidentally startled this Great Blue Heron at Dana Point, California, but was able to capture it before it flew away.
"Come over the hills and far with me,
And be my love in the rain." — Robert Frost, "A Line-storm Song"
Yellowstone National Park's Tower Fall late on a summer afternoon.
Technical info: I stopped down the aperture all the way to get the water blurred while keeping the photo exposed properly in the sunshine, without the use of an ND filter.
Beautiful color and patterns on the trunk of a palmetto tree in Central Florida.
Colored light reflecting on the colored water of Utah Lake tonight.
Portrait of a Pelican
Latourell Falls - one of the many beautiful waterfalls in Oregon's Columbia River Gorge.
Comes the Light
Sunlight streaming through snow-covered branches on a winter morning. This one looked best straight out of the camera without any processing.
Do you see the grumpy face?!
Arches National Park, Utah
Hide and Seek: The Nature Version
I love when the mountains play hide and seek in collaboration with the clouds. What a beautiful world we live in! This is Mt. Timpanogos in Utah.
Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
There is a universe of beautiful details when you get close enough.
Falling into Winter
One thing that I love about the mountains near my home, is that I get to see Fall and Winter coming before they arrive.
Recesses in the Rock
This landscape was so surreal to me. What a place! View it large if you can - there is quite a bit of detail here.
Canyonlands National Park, Utah.
Gathering storm clouds in July at almost 12,000 feet. Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
Color in the Rock
Sunlight brings out the color in the sandstone of Arches National Park, Utah.
